Internship Program

Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and get real “hands-on” experience in a growing, exciting local Church?  We’re not talking about gluing popsicle sticks and playing “gross-out” games – we’re offering a Summer of learning and leading in the great state of Texas!

This 10-week paid Summer Internship Program (henceforth known as the S.I.P.) is for college students who are currently preparing for, or are open to a vocation in local Church ministry or Missions, and is designed to provide you with the professional and practical experience necessary to succeed in ministry, as well as to grow and stretch you in your own personal walk with the Lord.

We are offering internship opportunities in the following two areas:

YOUTH MINISTRY

This area isn’t limited only to those who desire to become a Youth Pastor.  Instead, it includes a broad cross-section of ministries found within the Church.  These opportunities include, but are not limited to:

Youth Ministry

Missions

Insight into Ministry “Systems”

Lead Pastor Insights

As a Youth Ministries Intern, you will be given the opportunity to learn and put into practice a skillset that will serve as a jumpstart to developing your own unique ministry calling.

Potential responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Serving, teaching, and leading Small Groups in the Youth Group setting

Serving and teaching at “The Attic” (youth outreach)

Serving as a Camp Counselor

Sitting in on meetings with Missionaries

Main-stage speaking opportunities

Other duties as assigned

WORSHIP MINISTRIES

Music can often take a message to the heart that the spoken word sometimes can’t.  At Family Fellowship, we have a passion to create an engaging atmosphere of worship where people can experience God in a very real way.  Worship Ministries Interns will have the opportunity to help fulfill that mission in the development, implementation, and the leadership stages.

Potential responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Developing worship sets, participating with, and ultimately leading rehearsals and Worship Services with the Family Fellowship Creative Team

Creatively leveraging technology in our worship services (video, music, lighting)

Developing and leading a worship band for our Sunday morning “Impact” youth group, as well as our Youth Outreach “The Attic”.

Other duties as assigned

Each Intern will receive:

Experience

Interns will gain hands-on experience in one or more of the areas we are offering, depending upon their unique gifts and personal desires.  Interns will work on the same schedule as the current church staff.

Relationship

Each Intern will be assigned a Staff “mentor” who will pour into them and encourage them; creating the potential for life-long friendships.

Knowledge

Interns will also participate in weekly leadership coaching sessions with Lead Pastor Paul Blue, along with ministry leaders from a wide variety of settings.  Interaction with this gifted group of leaders will stretch and increase the interns' perspective on ministry and further develop their leadership and ministry skills.

FUN!

With Dallas less than an hour away, there are endless opportunities to make some great memories!

Compensation

These are paid internships ($300 per week), with a scholarship ($500) also given at the end of the Summer.

What Past Interns Have Said:

“I’ve received great book knowledge at College, but here I gained knowledge about real life and ministry that has better equipped me for my own future ministry.”

“My staff mentor was amazing! I’m so thankful for the amount of time he invested in me.”

“This church staff will pour into you and do everything they can to see you succeed.”

“The church staff is SO relational – on a scale of 1 to 10, my staff mentor was a 10!”

“I recommend this internship because it will prepare you for things you didn’t even know you would need to be prepared for!”
